Sovereign Quay: Somerset Road Green Point
SCOPE OF WORK: External refurbishment, including removing and reinstatement of waterproofing and reinstatement of failed expansion joints where required.
COMMENT: Work is in progress at Sovereign Quay, which is a prominent landmark along Somerset Road in Green Point. A layer will be added to the front of the building in character with the existing architectural features.
All new buildings and refurbishment projects have to comply with a new set of minimum “green�standards developed by the SABS. The existing brick and concrete paving will be recycled for re–use and low consumption lighting will be installed beneath the canopies.

Belvedere Office Park: Durbanville
SCOPE OF WORK: External refurbishment, including cleaning and maintenance of roofs and replacement of entrance and rear windows.
COMMENT: During refurbishment we observed repeated blistering of the exterior coating at basement level.
The excessive moisture levels recorded in the exterior substrate and acceptable moisture levels recorded in the substrate directly behind the affected areas within the basement parking indicated that the tanking of the basement areas was sufficient and that the moisture in the exterior was residual moisture in the structure and rising damp.

LongKloof Studios: Kloof Street Cape Town
SCOPE OF WORK: Longkloof Studios is a heritage site building and is the home of e.tv. The scope of works included external refurbishment of the brickwork, waterproofing, general repairs and construction.
COMMENT: The porosity of the brickwork allowed for moisture to ingress into internal areas. As per our recommendations all pointing was repaired as well as any defective brickwork. Our quality assurance checks ensured that the moisture levels were below 15% before applying the specified product.

Gardens Business Village: Cape Town
SCOPE OF WORK: Exterior repair and redecoration including paving, tiling and repairs.
COMMENT: Qualy Tech managed the project, ensuring that the contractors adhered to our recommendations from the high-pressure waterwashing of the entire building, which removed all non-adhering paint and assisted in the opening of the plaster cracks, to the application of the final coat.
